Is UseChale free?
Yes. Signing up, browsing and selling are free, and there is no commission during launch. When you pay in the app with Mobile Money, a small processing fee from the payment provider is shown before you pay.
How does the protected payment work?
You pay with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AirtelTigo Money. The money is held until you tap "I received it". If you don't respond within 72 hours of the seller marking it delivered, the seller is paid automatically — so report any problem before then.
Can I pay cash instead?
Some sellers accept "pay directly" at meetup. That's fine for small items, but UseChale can't get your money back for direct payments.
Do I need a school email?
No. You sign up with your phone number. To get the Verified badge, upload your student ID or admission letter. Only UseChale admins see it, and it's deleted after review.
What can't I sell?
Counterfeit goods, exam leaks or cheating services, drugs, regulated medicines, weapons, stolen items and anything illegal. Listings that break the rules are removed.
Can I look around before signing up?
Yes. Open the marketplace and tap "Browse without an account", pick a school and look around. You only sign up (with your phone number) when you want to message, order or sell.
What is Seller Pro?
An optional plan for busy sellers: GHS 10 a month (or GHS 25 for a semester), and your first month is free. You get one free boost every month — UseChale picks your listing most likely to sell and shows it at the busiest time — plus a Pro badge, more listings and sales stats. Extra boosts are GHS 3. Selling without Pro stays free.
Is there a phone app?
Use UseChale in your phone's browser and tap "Add to home screen" — it opens like an app and uses little data. iPhone and Android store apps are coming later.
